🏟️ About the Role:
Athlete2Business is thrilled to exclusively partner with this global industry leader to find an ambitious and driven Business Development Manager. In this role, you'll drive growth and manage key relationships across Australia, engaging with a mix of new and existing clients including schools, sporting clubs, councils, and elite sports organisations.
The role is a rewarding blend of 50% new business development and 50% account management, offering you variety, autonomy, and room to excel.
🎯 Your Responsibilities:

New Business Development (50%):

Actively identify, target, and secure new business opportunities.

Build lasting relationships across sporting institutions, local councils, education facilities, and professional sports clubs.

Leverage your passion for sport and your network to consistently deliver growth.

Account Management (50%):
-
Strengthen and expand existing client relationships, ensuring continued satisfaction and repeat business.

Provide tailored solutions and exceptional customer service to a diverse client base.

Act as a trusted advisor, nurturing relationships and understanding clients’ long-term goals.

🥇 Who We're Looking For:
We need a confident, proactive, and passionate salesperson—ideally based in Melbourne (but open to outstanding candidates in Sydney). Critically, you must be a former elite-level athlete from Hockey, Athletics, or any Football code (Rugby, League, AFL, or Soccer).
In addition, you'll have:

Proven success in sales or account management roles, ideally with exposure to sports infrastructure, construction, or related industries.

Strong existing networks in schools, sports clubs, councils, or elite sporting bodies.

Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously while delivering exceptional results.

Genuine passion for sport, community engagement, and high-performance environments.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially excel and have strong attention to detail when it comes to administrative work, putting together quotes & proposals.
